The morning was pretty much a white out with low clouds adding a touch of damp to the air. The grey had begun to lift as I left home for an afternoon dentist's appointment but as I drove up the steep hill I found myself once more in the cold grey clouds. Even when they lifted, from the corner of my eye I could see small clouds being blown over the fields from the coast. Once in town it was very warm with the clouds above holding the heat in. By the time I emerged from the dentist's the clouds had gone and it was hot, hot, hot and has stayed that way for the rest of the day.
I spent nearly two hours in the dentist's chair for which I paid over £2,000. This was not for any cosmetic work but was to repair my top teeth which were chipped and starting to crack. (I had the lower ones done last year to spread the cost.) But I will admit they do also look better now.
And I had the amalgam filling taken out of another tooth and replaced with the white stuff which is something the dentist has been advising for several years. This involved two injections which were a bit stingy and several hours later that side of my mouth is still numb making it hard to drink a cup of tea. If only I had a straw. (I've given up with my mug and am finding it less messy to drink my tea from a narrow neck flask.)
I hope it's worn off by the time I get to choir. I would much rather not go to choir but I've missed two practices and it's not long before we do our annual Sing for Water gig in town.
On such a lovely day there were plenty of takers to go go rowing and they took both boats out. Pete was coxing and he and Dave were planning on some race training. I just sat out on the terrace for a while.
