Welcome to family, friends and visitors. Here you will find interesting (hopefully) pictures of my part of the world, news of our household and probably, long ramblings about anything that catches my interest.

More Snow.

Pete actually woke me up this morning, with a mug of tea, because he knew I would want to see the heavy snow that was falling in the light of the street lights.

We ended up with a good two inches of snow and without any further rain or sleet in the day, anywhere such as our terrace that the sun didn't reach kept its covering of snow. For those who regularly get snow it might seem excessive to get excited over a couple of days of snow but it's a rare occurrence here. Later I met a chap who told me that the last time there was snow like this in Borth was over twenty years ago.

With the sun shining on the crisp white snow I didn't even wait for breakfast but went straight out for a snowy beach walk. I wore my new purple boots which meant I could walk through the crunchy snow and along the edge of the waves without worrying about wet feet.
There were a fair number of small to medium sized barrel jelly fish washed up with all the seaweed. I wonder if they revive once the tide takes them back out again?

I had a lovely invigorating walk before returning home for breakfast and a day of gentle jobs.
I put away the last two Christmas decorations which had turned up after everything else had been put away and took the wreath up into the loft. Pete had gone out for his usual pool session so I took the opportunity to take one of his jackets, an army one which he never wears nor ever will, up into the loft as well. That still leaves his 17 assorted coats, jackets etc in the hall cupboard compared to my 7. It's a hard job to get him to part with any of them even though some are almost identical. Perhaps I'll just shove more of them in the loft.
