Welcome to family, friends and visitors. Here you will find interesting (hopefully) pictures of my part of the world, news of our household and probably, long ramblings about anything that catches my interest.

The Usual Friday.

There wasn't too much wind first thing this morning making it good conditions for the two kayakers who were out on the water by 7.00. We had sun all day but it has got windier now.

No surprises when I got to the stables, I was down to ride Hazel again. There were only five of us and this time Iola (the owner) was teaching us. I struggled to maintain a canter, apparently my hands were all over the place. Hazel was still doing her irritating head tossing in trot and in the end I was told to hook my fingers into the breastplate of her martingale so that she couldn't keep jerking my hands forward.

Afterwards I called in at Charlie's and got a couple of alpine plants for the rockery, a pink Erodium and a white Antennaria. I also bought a shortish carex at Morrison's to replace a large bronze carex by the pond. Later I was tempted by a crystal sphere about the size of an apple, for £5 in Craft but resisted. I may buy it if it is still there next week.
The new plants have already been put in and the large carex put in a pot as it may well end up at the zoo. I hate just throwing out plants.
My neighbours are out so I haven't been able to find out how Gill is after her fall yesterday.
