Welcome to family, friends and visitors. Here you will find interesting (hopefully) pictures of my part of the world, news of our household and probably, long ramblings about anything that catches my interest.

Still Snowbound.

This morning the snow had melted a bit but the overnight cold had turned the slush to ice and the advice on the news was not to travel unless you had to. We had a few more heavy snow showers which died down by mid-day. In the afternoon Romas and I went up to the cars on an emergency mission to bring down a barrel of beer from Pete's car. Paul had been up again on his quad bike and had gone through the fields to get to the turning where he had spread lots of salt. We met Angela (the dog lady), who had parked up on the road and she said that from the Lewis' into town the road was pretty clear . Maybe we'll be able to get out tomorrow but there still remains the problem of the 3ft drifts which are still all along the drive.

Once we'd got up to the road Romas and I couldn't resist having a bit of fun. I built this snowman ....

........ and Romas built a snow shelter.

I took so many pictures yesterday, (I had to download 3 times) so today I'm posting some of the more interesting/unusual shots.

The garden at 9.30 yesterday morning.

Out on Ron's field the wind had blown this group of snowballs. The bigger ones were about 18" across.

Marks left by a bird taking off from the snow.

Snow was being blown across the road almost as if someone had a snow blower positioned behind the hedge.

This has to be a dinosaur caught out in the snow.

Looking down to Bideford Bay and Appledore.

Beautifully sculpted snow drifts.

More snow sculptures.

These snow pictures are absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. Love that you've been enjoying it so much - even though it's made access very difficult! Incredible volumes of snow!
