It's been such a wet and grey day today that I thought I'd cheer the post up with a garden shot from a couple of summers ago. (For those that are interested it's 2 hardy geraniums, the common Wargrave Pink and Roxanne.)The school day also ended on a depressing note as we had a presentation on 'safeguarding', the new term for child protection. We covered all aspects of child abuse from neglect to violence and worse, how to spot it and what to do about it in our professional roles. We also were given facts and figures on the numbers of children being abused in this country and some nasty case histories. Not nice at all.
I did manage to get out into the garden for a couple of hours this morning before the rain arrived. More leaf removal from the scree garden and a bit more of the ornamental grass bed dug over with roots, bindweed and a small ash tree removed. Hopefully I'll be able to get out there on the weekend.

Ruta! Was in the middle of commenting on your blog yesterday and suddenly the beeper on my computer sounded off to let me know the power was off. So, we had no power the rest of the afternoon until around 4;30 p.m. Beautiful pix of the geraniums! We have both, here. In fact, the blue one blooms in the wild. But the season is not advanced enough as yet. Matter of fact, we had frost this morning. The pictures was very much a "cheer up" photo! Good stuff! Elora
You have been so industrious in your garden you are putting me to shame. Work really does get in the way. I'm looking forward to spending two days mulching and tidying things up this coming week. Can't help but feel a bit fed up you're going to be basking in spring sunshine as the autumn chill starts to set in here.
