Welcome to family, friends and visitors. Here you will find interesting (hopefully) pictures of my part of the world, news of our household and probably, long ramblings about anything that catches my interest.

A Little Rain.

It has been another of those part sunny part cloudy days. We decided to head for the beach so that we wouldn't be too far from the car if it started to rain heavily but as we drove through Woolacombe it seemed as though everyone else was going to the beach too. There was not a single parking space along the road though there were enough half spaces between cars to make Peter mutter furiously about poor parking. As we drove up the steep road to Morthoe we could see people who must have parked up there walking nearly a mile back down to the beach carrying surfboards and beach equipment.  We parked at Morthoe and set off to walk around Morte Point even though I was wearing flip-flops rather than my walking boots.
We were rained on briefly a couple of times but enjoyed our stroll. This time there were 3 seals lazing in the water and watching us humans up on the cliff.
Back in Morthoe there were a variety of scarecrows outside most buildings and plenty of families walking around with quiz sheets which were some sort of fund raiser for the local church.
At home I had time for some much needed weeding and I also re-made some of the steps cut into the bank. I'm used to treading carefully up the narrow path but it's better to make it safer. It stayed dry enough for us to enjoy another of Peter's barbecues, grilled courgettes & cottage cheese salad for me and steak for him.
