Welcome to family, friends and visitors. Here you will find interesting (hopefully) pictures of my part of the world, news of our household and probably, long ramblings about anything that catches my interest.

Busy Day.

A very full day today. In the morning I took Laura and Romas into town to visit all the culinary high spots in Barnstaple and purchase lots of goodies. Handmade chocolates from Youings, the best fudge in the world from Roly's, proper Cumberland sausages from Withycombes, scones from the East West Bakery and clotted cream from a deli. After all that exertion we had coffee and cheese cake at Lindsay's. Then it was home for a quick sandwich before the shooting party went off to shoot clay pigeons at a local shooting school. That gave me time to tidy up, do some housework and make a start on the evening meal.
While Vytas and Sally went for a walk up the hill Romas made a start on chopping up all the awkward logs that had proved too much for me.
On his return Vytas joined in with the chopping and now we have a healthy stack of wood by the fireplace. Their hard work was rewarded with a hearty dinner of roast beef with lots of veg followed by a warm chocolate fudge cake and ice-cream.
