It was a typical holiday morning, soft rain which kept us indoors. The rain stopped in the afternoon so we decided to head down to Putsborough Beach. Despite the overcast sky it was surprisingly warm. The Sam, Vytas, Kate B and Romas headed into the waves with bodyboards, (I can't go in because of my eyes, shame), but there wasn't any surf. Instead they all went running down to the other end of the beach and back , about 3 1/2 miles.
Kate and I guarded the encampment and looked after the flasks of tea. Milo dug lots of holes in the sand in his usual terrier like fashion. That's OK until the sand starts flying in your direction.

We've always preferred the Putsborough end of the beach as it is hardly developed. Just a few houses, car park, beach shop and the caravan site. I think it would be lovely to have a holiday there, long evening walks along the sea watching the sun go down and then waking in the morning with the sea lapping down below.

Great account and pictures of your trip to the beach. It is such a typical English beach scene. Shame about there being no surf but it looks like you all had a great time nevertheless.
That's a fabulous expanse of beach and it looks like a most relaxing day.
