Welcome to family, friends and visitors. Here you will find interesting (hopefully) pictures of my part of the world, news of our household and probably, long ramblings about anything that catches my interest.

Sunny.

I do believe this has officially been the hottest day of the year. At school where there was little breeze it was hot but up in the hills the breeze was cool and refreshing. In the morning the children were learning to share and subtract using Mini Cheddars which yes, they ate at the end of the activity. (This week they had a birthday party for the class mascot/toy so all their learning has been related to parties.) In the afternoon we took both reception classes out on the field to practise relay races; running, bean bag on a racquet & throwing a bean bag into a hoop for the sports' day which will be in a month's time. We haven't planned exactly what they will be doing for the sports' day but it's good to get the children used to running to a marker and back. That's not so easy when you are only 4 years old. The ground has dried up enough for the children to be able to play in the Secret Garden which nice and cool in the shade of the trees. They enjoyed exploring the willow tunnel and kept running up to me saying they had found scorpions which were really earwigs. No scorpions in this country except possibly some invaders around the ports.
After school I did as much as I could to set up the new class activities for Monday and then went into town to change my library books and have a brief wander around the clothes shops. Coming home there was a 2 car crash, not too serious I hope but the cars were blocking the road up the hill. The fire station is across the road so they would have had immediate help. (In the UK fire stations do not have their own paramedics and ambulances but they are trained in first aid.)
The young stag is out in the field this evening. I'm pretty sure it is the same one and if he is then his side is healing up nicely.
