Overnight rain washed away all traces of the snow apart from on the highest hills. We had a dry morning with the rain not returning until mid-afternoon. This rain looks set to stay so I may be forced to drive down for the first Pilates / kettlebell session of the year. Kettlebells are hard work at any time and after the holiday it's going to be harder still.
(The rest of the photos are from yesterday.)
The holiday is over and today the spring cleaning starts. I always begin in the kitchen so that if I get distracted by events and give up at least the kitchen will be done.
Today I did the top cupboards, taking everything out, checking it was all clean and wiping the cupboards before putting things back. These high cupboards are mainly for crockery that we rarely use. The dishes we use on a daily basis are kept in a handy drawer while the rest are for our very occasional guests.
I'm doing my best to clear out stuff we really don't need which includes the spare, spare mugs now that we no longer have teams of builders needing frequent mugs of tea. That still leaves us with eight standard mugs (and assorted other sizes). No cups and saucers though unless you count the painted porcelain set still in the loft. A few recipe books have found their way into the give-away pile as well.
The Llyn in the distance across the bay.
This turnstone was for too engrossed in searching for sand hoppers to take any notice of me walking past.
These black headed gulls in their winter plumage were well camouflaged on the snowy beach.
