Welcome to family, friends and visitors. Here you will find interesting (hopefully) pictures of my part of the world, news of our household and probably, long ramblings about anything that catches my interest.

A Stroll on the Beach.

It has been another wild and windy day, perfect for a walk on the beach. Although the clouds were looming it stayed dry and it was only as we returned home that we felt any drizzle. The weather report shows that we should escape the worst of the severe rain unlike people up in Scotland and the north of England.
The wind had changed direction and it felt much milder than recently especially down on the beach where we were sheltered from the wind.
During the winter the beach loses a lot of its sand and already we could see the underlying rocks appearing.
At the waters' edge the only signs of life were some oyster catchers. The waves were too blown out for any surfers to brave the cold waters.

For us it was more of a stroll than a flat out walk. We enjoy checking out the little rock pools and of course there are many photo stops.
 Snakeslocks anemones.
 A Dahlia anemone.
Apparently in deep water they can grow to the size of a dinner plate.
This afternoon I've been doing more work for school, checking out some animated Hindu stories for children. Some were a bit complex and others a little gory for my 4 year olds but the rest will be fine for my RE lessons with the reception children.

Oh those pictures are wonderful. I'd love to be able to walk along there.
