Welcome to family, friends and visitors. Here you will find interesting (hopefully) pictures of my part of the world, news of our household and probably, long ramblings about anything that catches my interest.

The White House Story.

Cold and grey today. The photos were taken in the middle of the afternoon when the sky was much the same colour as when I sat out in the morning watching the waves gently rolling in. It has definitely felt like winter is just round the corner.
Here he comes, the builder man,
Pulling up, in his van.
Quickly put the kettle on,
Oh no!
He's gone.
That is what happened again this morning. But to give him his due he turned up later on and the new render has been transformed with the first coat of the white silicone stuff. It's incredibly expensive but should save me having to paint the house every year or two.

What a difference it makes to have it all white. Perhaps we should change the name from Redroofs to The White House. Nah, I don't think so.

That all happened while I was out riding. I rode Margaret again and although the cantering was much better, no rushing into a fast trot and then cantering on the wrong leg somewhere down a straight side I wasn't so successful in getting her nicely on the bit in trot. One day I'll get both the trotting and the cantering going really nicely, it's something to aim for.
Afterwards I went shopping and to town. The most exciting thing I got was a telescopic window cleaner and duster half-price in B&M. It was just the duster bit I needed, the other heads were a bonus. I've already gone round and cleaned off all the cobwebs I can see. The original house, under the red roof, has very high ceilings and I've been noticing a few dusty cobwebs especially in our bedroom. Once they started adding more rooms, under the flat roofs, the ceilings became a lot lower.
