Cold again today without even a breath of wind.
It's due to get even colder tonight including snow in the early hours turning to rain in the day. I was surprised to see that our recycling wasn't collected today but the information has come through that the workers are out gritting the roads instead. Luckily we have two black bins by the garage so the recycling went in one of those until next week.
Peter had to drive out beyond Mach to see somebody and I took the opportunity to go along to see a bit more of the area. As we had to drive through Mach we made plans to stop there first and buy some food from the Royal House Café but shock horror when we got there they were closed. That was a real disappointment as their food is really nice and it's just about the only place we buy take away food from. I had also planned to have a quick wander through the street market on the way back but there were very few stalls there and it didn't seem worth stopping again for.
However I did get to see some new scenery with the snow capped Cambrian mountains in the distance. (There had been some good views of a snowy Snowdonia as we drove along the Dyfi valley too.) As I surveyed the chilly landscape I could hear the quwark quwark of a raven in a nearby tree. Something different to the rooks and jackdaws that live around here.
Having arrived home sans bag of goodies I continued cleaning the kitchen starting with the floor cupboards. I did half of them and although there was still time later to do some more I decided that there is no point in overdoing things and left the rest for next time.
