Welcome to family, friends and visitors. Here you will find interesting (hopefully) pictures of my part of the world, news of our household and probably, long ramblings about anything that catches my interest.

Beach Walk.

The day began looking very silvery if slightly gloomy but later the sun made a welcome appearance.

Not wanting to drive our car until it gets a new exhaust and not wishing to pass on this horrible cold to anyone who might have been kind enough to give me a lift I decided to forgo the group walk. (I'm still coughing and spluttering which means I'm still infectious.)
Instead I took myself on a beach walk in the afternoon.
That was after spending a good few hours making truffle centres. Having discovered that the ganache centres freeze well with a birthday coming up soon and truffles to make for Christmas presents I thought I'd get the whole lot done in one go. Rolling each one by hand is certainly the messiest part of the job but now I have 150 centres sitting in the freezer. This year I've made four types, pecan, dried apricot, plain and with chocolate halva. Nearer the time I'll dip them in chocolate and decorate them.
It was good to be out on the beach for a walk in the fresh air. Under the cliffs was an intriguing sign. On it was painted - Seal Pup!, Please avoid. Keep dogs on lead. The two girls (well they're girls to me) sitting nearby were there to ask people to keep away as having people and especially dogs around could cause the mother to abandon the pup. They told me the pup was further up under the cliffs. Later I tried looking from above but didn't see it.
Coming back along the sand I met up with someone I know who was out walking her dog. I kept my distance as we had a nice chat strolling along the beach.
