It wasn't the Big Bad Wolf huffing and puffing today but Truffle the pig as he decided to build a house of straw in a muddy corner of his run. After leaving his straw in the corner he got distracted by two of the staff outside the fence at the other end of the run after which he gave up on moving house.
Meanwhile, just across the grass Zeus was expressing his wolf nature with some happy howling.
I'm sure the coastguards were pleased that it was dry and sunny today while they spent the whole day throwing themselves off the cliff doing cliff rescue training.
I drove down to the zoo ( I could have cycled but winter makes me lazy) to spend three hours weeding and generally tidying up. I thought I'd just be picking up fallen leaves but then I noticed a lot of tiny seedlings that had sprung up in the recent mild weather. Removing those now will save me a lot of work next time. First I took off the temporary fixings I'd used last week on the wood around the flowerbed and used some long screws which I'd brought from home, to fix the wood more securely.
Back home again in the afternoon I did some ironing in between putting my feet up and having a rest. It's good to take things easy once in a while.
