I guessed the weather was going to be better today when I heard on the radio that instead of the usual 2C/35F for this time of year it was already 17C/62F. And yes we've had warmth and sun with a light breeze in the morning which had me putting washing out on the line. By the end of the day the sheets were ready for ironing though the towels still needed drying in the utility room.
I was up and dressed by 8.00 when I saw the builder's van draw up outside but no sooner had I put the kettle on and opened the door to see if they wanted a tea or coffee than they had gone. I guess they were just checking to see how dry the render was. So I got to sit outside, there wasn't much happening just a heron flapping off from the rocks. The big rafts of gulls didn't appear until later in the day.
After breakfast with the sun lighting up just the corner I needed to work in I did my best to dig up the bramble root, an old stem about the size of a tangerine that had begun to sprout again. It was tucked away in a very awkward spot between two hydrangeas at the far corner of the garden. With a lot of huffing and puffing I was able to pull out most of the roots but I was defeated by the tap root and had to cut it off as far down as I could. Should it grow again I'll have to work out a way of getting weed killer on it.
Then it was time for our Welsh class. We carried on from last week's work when we learnt how to say 'my' and learnt 'his' and 'her'. Nothing so simple as a single word for each. Nope, they all need two words, one before and one after the object and it doesn't stop there. There are mutations where the first letter of the object changes. And it isn't the same set of mutations for each case either. Soft mutations (for words beginning with t c p b g d ll m rh) when it's 'his' or 'your', nasal mutations (t c p b g d ) when it's ' 'my' and aspirate mutations (t c p and any word starting with a vowel) for 'her'. Very confusing.
I finished my day by doing the ironing and sadly I won't be going to disco aerobics tonight to give my foot time to heal.

Relax with the mutations, especially the soft ones...there is a reason that they developed over time, you will find yourself using them without thinking. Dal ati!!
It is a relief to have a good drying day, even when we shouldn't really be having weather like this... although we have been the exception in Southwest Scotland, being under cloud most of the past few days and a fair few degrees colder than the rest!!
Just wandering over from Codlins and Cream🙂...you can't be too far from my daughter in Llandre!
I drive through Llandre every week on my way to choir at Talybont and one of the people in my walking group lives there on that road.
