Mostly wet today.
Even though I've been checking both the village FB pages it was only after I posted a question asking when the craft fair would be on that I found out it was today. It was such a shame to miss it last year. It wasn't actually raining so I walked down soon after it opened at 10.00.
There were so many stalls with beautiful stuff. My plan was to buy Peter's Christmas present, maybe something small for the house and to take photos of anything I would love to be given as a present. When I got home I showed Peter the photos and he went down to do his shopping a bit later on. That way we support the local crafts people/artists, it takes the stress out of choosing for Peter and I'm happy too.
I bought another small porcelain bird from the lady below,
and one of the photos has come home as a present for Peter. I also bought him a charcoal sketch which I shall try and find a frame for. I took lots of photos and will share more over the week.
Having smuggled my purchases into the house I got ready to go on the walk while Peter went down to the hall. On his return off I went, undeterred by the rain but came to a halt just outside the village as the road was flooded. I pulled over to the side and watched two 4WD cars drive through quickly creating massive bow waves and decided that I wasn't going to risk our little car. There is an alternative route to Cletwr but it is much longer and would have made me late. Instead I went home, sent my apologies on the group chat app and spent the afternoon putting up our indoor decorations.
Our decorations are still quite minimal but I had acquired a few more decorations over the year so some overflow branches were needed as well as my small driftwood tree. That's missing the tiny orange peel stars which I threw out last year. If I get time I'll make some more.
I do like sparkly lights, there's another lot in the window by the dining table and some on the bookcase. New this year are the white metal star and a larger paper star with led lights inside which is hanging in the big window.
While it has been mostly grey all day there was a sudden break in the clouds to cheer up the end of the day. It's still raining so I'm not going to put up the outside driftwood tree yet.

Really enjoyed looking at all the craft fair items - so many lovely items. Your decorations are really unique and I love sparkly lights too. I spy Speedy reflected in the mirror - is he sitting on the table!
