Welcome to family, friends and visitors. Here you will find interesting (hopefully) pictures of my part of the world, news of our household and probably, long ramblings about anything that catches my interest.

Good News.

I'm jumping for joy because this morning I had a phone call from the hospital offering me a cancellation slot for the removal of the cyst on my toe. I had rung the admissions secretary earlier this week to check on the possible date for this and had been told that my two years waiting time would be up in October so some time after that. I reminded her that I was more than willing to take a cancellation and now it's being done in less than four weeks. My main concern has been that following the cyst I have now developed a bunion and although correlation is not causation I suspect the cyst has pushed the joint rather than my footwear which is usually crocs or flip-flops.

And now for the weather update. It's getting a lot windier and cooler though no rain yet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it won't be wet for my long ride tomorrow afternoon or for Borth Fest in general. This morning Peter had to cancel a row as one rower was a first time rower and another is a beginner. It would not have been safe for them in the rough conditions. It's all systems go with the rowing club as they attempt to get into race condition for a regatta at Aberdyfi in a few week's time. I'm not sure how the water iris which opened today is going to survive the wind either.

Today was the penultimate lesson of our fourth year of learning Welsh. Our progress has been fairly slow and our tutor has asked us if we would like three hour lessons next year. My brain turns to mush after the two hours but it should help with our progress so hopefully everybody else agrees to three hours.

Such good news for you. The water iris is so pretty and delicate looking.
