Happy Easter to everyone celebrating this day. And what nicer picture to use than this card painted by my cousin.
The sun was shining this morning plus I was very happy to find when I weighed myself that I have lost a stone, a decent amount for nine weeks of watching what I eat. That's the winter weight gone and I'll keep on with the diet for a while to get myself to where I'll feel happier. But I shall indulge once in a while, I mean it would be rude not to eat the small marzipan eggs Peter bought me. Sheer indulgence and I shall try and spread them out.
Today's walk began in Trisant (three saints), a small settlement 1,000 ft up in the hills not far from Devil's Bridge. Once again I had a lift there but I had driven two of the group who live near me over to the next village as Jan's car is much bigger and more comfortable than mine.
Our walk stroll began along the raised bank (on the right) by the lake, up the first field then over to the left and beyond before looping back under the crest of the hill to the church just out of sight on the right and back.
Eventually we arrived at the Llantrisant Church perched alone above the lake.
In the churchyard is a building housing two 7th-9th C grave marker stones.
The building also has a large sunny room with benches around the walls, a meeting room I suppose, which comes in useful when the weather is wet but today we made use of a bench and the grass in the churchyard to sit and have our lunch. From there it was just a short walk back to the cars by the lake before returning home along the high ridge overlooking Cwm Rheidol.
