Welcome to family, friends and visitors. Here you will find interesting (hopefully) pictures of my part of the world, news of our household and probably, long ramblings about anything that catches my interest.

Not So Cold.

Cloudy with the occasional drop of rain today. The wind is now blowing from the south so it isn't bitterly cold any more.
I still didn't get off to sleep at a sensible time last night and I can't blame Peter's snoring for that. Just one of those things. Today I had a short list of achievable jobs which I have almost completed. (The carrots are taking a long time to cook.) First thing was to head off along the beach to see if the shop at the far end of the village was open. It wasn't which is a shame. Being not sure if it would rain or not I didn't bother to take my camera which was a mistake. No further than 10-20ft from the shore line a small group of Little Terns were diving into the sea just like miniature versions of gannets complete with an upward plume of water. On my return journey there were just two of the terns fishing but ever hopeful I hurried home to get my camera. And of course they had all gone by the time I got back to the beach. I shan't be leaving my camera at home again.

Back at home I peeled and chopped the swede and carrots which are almost ready to be mashed with butter and pepper before being portioned for freezing.

My next job was to screw the hooks on to the bar in the utility room. While the bit out of sight of the camera still needs to be done I'm quite pleased with the result of my work over the last couple of weeks. You can see how much more light comes into the room since the wooden panel above the wall fell down in the storm. I'm hoping that my neighbours will take up my suggestion that they don't bother replacing the panel and also remove the other panels on the wall along the side of the house
My last job was to shorten Peter's 'armour' and hem round the bottom.
It's that time of year when the birds are pairing up.
