Welcome to family, friends and visitors. Here you will find interesting (hopefully) pictures of my part of the world, news of our household and probably, long ramblings about anything that catches my interest.

Roasting.

It's definitely a heatwave. While no doubt the official temperature will be lower this was how hot it was out on the terrace at 4.00. Not surprisingly I had been sitting inside.
This morning I went shopping, Morrison's first where I found a shady parking place. As usual I checked out their plants and could not resist buying a white lavender (English, not the more delicate French variety.) I'm not sure where I'll plant it but I'll find somewhere.
Next stop was Charlie's where the only shady spot was a disabled persons' space so I had to park in the sun. Nothing special in the plant dept. and no bargains in the riding wear section. I then went on to Lidl without bothering to walk round the small shops. But I did call in at Mountain Warehouse which is close to Lidl as Pete had told me there was a purple fleece on the sale rail that he thought I might like. There was no sign of the purple fleece but I did come out with a fluffy grey zip-up top (no hood). Apart from being extra fluffy which is like catnip to me I  had been on the lookout for a grey fleece to replace the older one I gave away last year.

I took advantage of the sun and aired my summer dresses which are stored in a tub and also the contents of another tub, swimsuits and some underwear. With my frequently changing shape and the quest for the perfect bra (or more recently) elasticated sports top I had amassed quite a collection much of it never worn. Later in the day I had a good sort out and have greatly reduced the amount I'm keeping. I mean, who needs seven swimming costumes?

I've had a few short spells sitting out in the sun and was able to fix the zip on a much loved medium sized bag.
Last night's sunset.
