Welcome to family, friends and visitors. Here you will find interesting (hopefully) pictures of my part of the world, news of our household and probably, long ramblings about anything that catches my interest.

More Rain.

There was a pretty pink sky in the morning which true to folklore heralded a day of rain. Mainly light rain with a few heavy showers towards the end of the afternoon.
In the morning we met up with Anne and Elaine at the library in Mach to practise our Welsh. It's getting to that time of year when we have to work around our various commitments which impinge on the regular fortnightly meetings. We checked through our homework, discussed points of grammar and translated the next two stories in the book we are reading. Afterwards my usual quick look around the shops came up with nothing. That's the fun of going to the charity shops, you never know what you will find.

Afterwards I dropped Pete off in the village for his weekly pool session and had an hour at home before heading out again. The new 'long box holder' is firmly stuck to the door and is just the right size for three boxes. It should be more convenient than rootling around in the cupboard for the boxes. I had to fix a piece of wood across the bottom of the ducting to stop the boxes from falling through and I happened to find a suitable offcut from the utility room's beech worktop in the garage. Which although it can't be seen makes me happy to know that it matches the kitchen.
And then I was off out again. This time to Aber for an appointment with the dental hygienist. I took up her offer of some numbing gel on the gums before she started but there were still a few sensitive moments. (She did say my teeth were pretty good to start with.)

While I was in town I went to the photo shop and ordered a 10x8 print of our favourite photo from Crete to go in one of the clip frames I bought last week. Then of course I had a quick hunt in the charity shops and found a new frame (50p) for anther of our holiday photos which is now next to my pc, and a ball of ultra soft pink yarn also 50p. It's the wrong colour for the throw I'm working on but how could I resist that wonderful softness? I'm sure I'll find a use for it one day.
Finally in the spirit of supporting local businesses I bought one of Pwdin's brownies from the vending machine.

Your toaster in the kitchen cabinet looks very much like mine. 👍 Warm greetings from a retired lady living in Montreal, Canada ❤️ 😊 🇨🇦
