Welcome to family, friends and visitors. Here you will find interesting (hopefully) pictures of my part of the world, news of our household and probably, long ramblings about anything that catches my interest.

Still Grey.

There was only a light wind this morning with the flat sea looking quite mundane. Light rain returned in the afternoon.
But to brighten my morning a small flock of goldfinches swooped into the garden stopping for a while on top of the hedge. I hear them frequently but don't see them that often. I'm probably not growing the right sort of seed plants for them.
The track that leads to the stables was very pretty this morning. The trees are mainly golden with orange highlights. Drifts of orange leaves lined the track and there was a steady fall of leaves from the trees on either side of the road. As if it was snowing but with leaves.
I got to ride a different horse or should I say pony, today. This was Griff, a well mannered pony that went beautifully on the bit with very effort from myself. That left me free to concentrate on other things ie my posture which is a constant struggle with my hunched shoulders. The main comment I got today was that Griff was looking very pretty but needed more energy. Legs and the occasional tap with my whip were needed. We spent most of the time time working on coming to a square halt. Mainly I think because one of our group is entering the stable's upcoming dressage competition.

After riding I did the usual shopping including stopping in town. The music shop I had hoped to get some advice from re finding someone to look at my digital piano has closed but while I was in the dentist's booking a hygienist appointment one of the receptionists told me about a music place in the market hall. I went up there but the guy wasn't around. He teaches piano and does voice coaching so I thought he might know of someone. I'll send him an email.
The RNLI shop won't be open in the week until next Easter so Pete was home when I got back. He helped me put away the shopping and then went off on rowing club business.
I had a rest and then spent a long time preparing a large bag of apples for stewing which once cooked will go in the freezer. These were from my next door neighbour's farm and will keep us in stewed apples for quite a while.

Last at disco aerobics Rachel told us that the little reel I shared has had over 5K views. We're famous!

The birds as so pretty. Goldfinches here are mostly yellow with black.

How fun for you to ride horses, Griff sounds like a nice pony to ride. I rode at a stable when I was a preteen and still have a love of horses.
