Welcome to family, friends and visitors. Here you will find interesting (hopefully) pictures of my part of the world, news of our household and probably, long ramblings about anything that catches my interest.

Mild.

It has been reasonably warm with a good drying wind. By the time the second machine load was ready to hang out on the line the towels from the first wash were completely dry. There was a very light spattering of rain in the afternoon but the grey clouds were soon blown away.
Now that the major jobs are done I was able to spend the whole day pottering about in the garden. I began by tying in any climbers that were waving around. This time, instead of laboriously tying the shoots to the trellis with garden string I decided to use garden wire, the sort that is covered with soft (green) plastic. Though come to think of it using plastic isn't a very green solution. But it was a lot easier to make a loop of wire that just needed to be squeezed securely onto the trellis. And hopefully I'll be able to re-use the loops at some point. The rest of the time I was weeding or moving small plants around. It was just nice to clear all the smaller garden jobs.
It was still pleasantly mild when I walked to and from Pilates down in the Hall.
