Welcome to family, friends and visitors. Here you will find interesting (hopefully) pictures of my part of the world, news of our household and probably, long ramblings about anything that catches my interest.

Mach.

I couldn't tell which way the weather was going to go this morning. The sea was calm, the sky cloudy and a light breeze was blowing. But eventually a thin sea mist filled the air bringing a certain amount of clammy chill. It was warmer in Mach and by the time we had finished in the library it was positively mild. But not so when we returned to the coast. There was that mist and chill again which remained for most of the afternoon.
We arrived early in Mach and I nipped across the road to post Peter's passport in the Post Office at the back of the Spar. There was no queue- brilliant! until I realised I had left my handbag and purse in the car. I had to get the car keys from Peter in the library, retrieve my handbag and left going back to the Post Office until after our Welsh session. The library was pretty noisy this morning with a full toddler group right next to us. And we're quite loud too as we struggle to remember vocabulary and grammar or make wild guesses whilst translating the latest book for learners. Afterwards I had a couple of good finds in the charity shops, a blue glass vase (£1.75) and a big bag of glass blobs (£3.50) for the porch window.
Back home I sat outside and brushed my dressing gown to restore its fluffiness after being washed yesterday.
And now for a wander around more of the stalls from Saturday. As well as the fair in the evening they held a fantasy ball. That would have been fun to see.

I'll start with the local lady Jane Campbell who sells her felted creations under the name The Crafty Cambrian . If money was no object I'd buy the large hare. I was very tempted by the green dragon (below) but it was too expensive (fully justified by the amount of work involved) for me to indulge myself. It has at least inspired me to get my felting needles out again.

More fun hats and chicken doorstops.
Some unique beaded jewellery.
These books with their tactile covers are made by Seize the Memento and were so tempting as I love notebooks.
Crochet taken to a new level by Calm Krafts.
Steampunk items by Wild Skills Leather.
And packets of herbs for medicinal purposes.
Yesterday when Peter was out at sea rowing one of the rowers' pager went off. He's a volunteer with the  coastguards and was needed for a shout. They rowed back as fast as they were able so that he could meet up with the other coastguards who had his kit with them, at Ynyslas. The shout was for a piece of suspected ordnance with turned out to be harmless, just a piece of old metal. But there is still plenty of live ordnance turning up there. It was less than two weeks ago that one had to be blown up with a very large boom. It set all the seagulls squawking, the coastal equivalent of car alarms going off when there is a loud noise in the city.  The coastguards only do the 'guarding' to keep the public away until a specialist bomb disposal team arrives.

I'd love to walk around there and browse at everything.

I'd like your blue vase and the red toadstool in the first picture.
