The sun was shining and the daffodils were out for the first day of Spring which is also St. David's Day.
I had my, not quite as early as usual cuppa sitting on the wall of one of the raised beds so that I could feel the warmth of the sun after what had been a frosty morning. As I sat there I heard the distinctive croak of a raven and sure enough when I looked up there were a pair of ravens flying overhead and croaking to each other. From the gardens behind me came the more melodious cooing of a wood pigeon.
With nothing scheduled on Saturdays I always feel very relaxed though of course I wouldn't appreciate the 'time off' if I did nothing on the other six days of the week. Saturdays are even better when the sun is shining and I know I can spend the day in the garden. I began by emptying out and cleaning the water butt which wasn't smelling very nice. At the same time I raised the height of the pile of slabs it stands on in the hope that will stop it filling right to the very brim.
Once that was done I thought all I would be doing was a bit of pottering about in the front garden. Two buckets of m.y.o.b. later and some more cutting back and weeding I can now say everything is done, for the time being.
The fishing boat from Aberystwyth was out dropping lobster/crab pots this morning. Apart from that I haven't seen anyone on the water even though it was perfect for paddle boarding. Oh and the rowing club went out later. The doctor told Peter to wait for a few days before rowing much to his disappointment.
I finished Peter's Viking axe yesterday evening. Not bad for some cardboard, duct tape and garden string. Might make a couple of daggers next.
The garden lights looked a lot better in their new positions, more like night-time flowers. I have moved one again today and hopefully that will be it. The camera has lightened up the photo below but that's two of the lights in their new spots.
