It rained in the night and first thing in the morning but by the time I set off for the stables the sun was out. We had about five minutes of rain on the ride but for the most part it was sunny with the occasional cool breeze.
The photos and videos have already come so here we are Arriving at Nant Yr Arian and this is us crossing the Rheidol on the way home.
Here I am on Pac Man going up one of the many steep inclines we went up or down. We had a lovely day but I'm not sure I could last another full day on Pac Man. His constant jogging although easy to sit to is hard on the back and knees when it's all day long.
There's talk of organising a 2 or 3 day ride stopping at B&Bs but I've already said I doubt if this old body could take it. Although I took a co-codamol when we stopped at Nant Yr Arian my back was aching for the last hour and right now my knee is not good either.
All those steep tracks got us to the tops of the ridges where we had great views. We rode through forests and meadows and did some roadwork too.
The corral at Nant yr Arian. We were there at feeding time for the red kites who formed an enormous swirling mass flying above the lake.
The horses having a welcome drink in the Rheidol on the way home.
I had planned to go into town to do the shopping tomorrow but thinking that I might be feeling a bit sore tomorrow I called in on the way home instead. Although we avoid processed food I gave in and bought a quiche reduced to 50p which we ate for our supper.
When the builders arrived this morning I spoke to James and said (very politely) that I wasn't happy with the slabs but since they'd been laid on cement I would accept them as they were. BUT I stressed that the slabs along the step leading to the shingle garden really should be whole slabs not cut slabs or a gap left. Which is how the red slabs had been. There was a lot of measuring and discussion and eventually James came and said that they would re-do all the slabs, at no extra cost to us.
And now we have a much better layout of the slabs. There is a little bit of finishing off to do which they will do on Monday.

Loved seeing the horses drinking.
It's good that you were able (politely) to get your slabs sorted and are happier with it all now.
