Welcome to family, friends and visitors. Here you will find interesting (hopefully) pictures of my part of the world, news of our household and probably, long ramblings about anything that catches my interest.

Staying Warm.

Apologies for the lack of yesterday's post, After being at work all day I turned on my PC in the evening only have it decide to automatically update 25 programs and refuse to do anything else.
I've had 2 full days at work which was a bit of a shock to the system especially getting up so early. Things were a bit hectic in class yesterday but we got lots done and today was much better. I was asked to do some maths on the children's knowledge and use of number bonds. We spread it over the whole morning so we could work with smaller groups. The children got quite excited playing Bingo with us. Anything that involves a 'game' goes down well with children. They had individual whiteboards to write their own numbers and it was easy for us adults to change the level of the game to see what the children knew and what they need more practise with. Both afternoons they worked in mixed ability groups on various map making/reading activities.
It is still very warm so it has been lovely each evening to take a slow walk in the garden listening to the birds and feeling the sun on my back. The mature beech tree in the corner is covered in beech mast and every now and again you can hear one fall to the ground.
There is more cloud around but we have been promised a few more warm days. It does feel a little odd to have the air so warm yet see the autumnal colours and berries in the hedgerows.
