We woke to a cold and frosty morning today. We both had appointments at the surgery, for me a flu jab with the nurse followed by a double appointment with my doctor and Peter had his appointment directly after me. I've no problems with needles and I can honestly say I didn't even feel the needle going in. Unlike a number of small children also waiting to see a nurse who could be heard howling all the way down the corridor. I had a good appointment with the doctor, she agreed to give me a steroid injection in the knee to reduce the pain while I continue the exercises to build up the muscles. As she went out to get the injection I suggested she brought 2 injections back as Peter was also wanting an injection. (He got his injection as the report from the physio said that exercises would not be helpful while an injection would.) I then regaled the doctor with a list of my current symptoms and she agreed that they were most likely due to a muscle strain and my permanent sinus infection. As a result I've been told to rest my knee for 48 hours (maybe) and not to do any core exercises for the time being. I've also got a letter for an x-ray and will be referred to the ENT specialists to see if anything can be done about my sinuses. With all that going on I've put the diet back until next Monday though I shall try to be sensible with the chocolates.
After the doctor's I dropped Peter off in town, drove to the Post Office to post a parcel and called in at Tesco's. There I picked up some quality wrapping paper at 50p a roll plus cards, a gift bag and some serviettes all reduced by 50-75%.
When I got home I put out our half-full bin as everybody else had put out their bins. They haven't been collected tonight so maybe the bin lorry will be round in the morning.
The clear sky made for a lovely sunset which is still lingering as streaks of orange and grey reflected in the river.

Beautiful sunset! I hate the thought of needles but when I actually get a shot it is no big deal!
Such a beautiful sunset.
All the best Jan
