Welcome to family, friends and visitors. Here you will find interesting (hopefully) pictures of my part of the world, news of our household and probably, long ramblings about anything that catches my interest.

Stormy.

The rain began last night and has continued all day turning both the sea and the sky grey. The winds began picking up through the morning with the forecast being for more heavy rain and overnight severe coastal gales. The waves have been steadily rolling in all through the day but not really turning into good surfing waves. There were four surfers out first thing but eventually they gave up and went home.
The plaster has been here all day plastering the top half of the toilet walls and the end of the corridor. Previously there had been a roof light at the end of the hall which was a good idea to let in some light but unfortunately it had been leaking, maybe for years which caused a lot of damage to the hall and back bedroom. We got rid of the glass door to the utility room (ugly and not safety glass) but the replacement door will have two glass panels which should let more light in. I had to laugh at the plasterer's home-made light made from a standard lamp.
With no chance of working outside today it was a good day to load up the car and go down to the launderette. Not a single person there which was good but even though I had wrapped up well it was still cold especially when the wind blew the door open and in the end I was warming my hands up on the door of the drier. Then followed an ironing session in front of the tv with the rolling seas outside the window.
A couple of photos from yesterday's walk.
