Welcome to family, friends and visitors. Here you will find interesting (hopefully) pictures of my part of the world, news of our household and probably, long ramblings about anything that catches my interest.

A Sea View/Glimpse.

We had a pretty dreary start to the day with wind, grey skies and a general feeling of damp but later on the sun appeared and it felt a lot warmer. With the wind blowing from behind the house I could appreciate what a sun-trap the sheltered front garden is.
Once again I've been paint scraping and did 4 spindles and the wood below them which I felt was good going. At that rate another 4 sessions should see this part of the job done.
We've been having a lot of trouble with our internet connection again. It keeps slowing down or even dropping out altogether. Peter got through to the Sky who we now get phone and internet from and halfway through the call he put it on speaker phone so I could hear the 'helpful' suggestions of the girl on the help desk. She had pin pointed the fault to the small unit plugged into the phone socket. 'Do you have a spare one?' was her first question and when Peter told her no she then asked if we could borrow one from a neighbour. Really! So we should go round to the neighbours and ask them to disconnect their phone, tv and internet so that we can use ours. She did say she would put one in the post and we should get it in a couple of days.
This evening I got to see a sliver of the sea from my window just because of the way the sunlight was reflecting from it. Right now the sea mist has almost blocked out everything beyond the sand dunes.

A little glimpse of the sea is better than none at all. : )
