Welcome to family, friends and visitors. Here you will find interesting (hopefully) pictures of my part of the world, news of our household and probably, long ramblings about anything that catches my interest.

Sunny.

I'm so glad I ignored the early grey skies and put the washing in the machine as the day soon turned very sunny and windy. Apart from the usual housework, not that much, all I needed to do today was the ironing and making up the bed. I'm getting back into my routine music practise as well, piano and guitar. I'd let the guitar lapse lately so it's going to take a while to toughen up my fingertips. Once the house sale goes through I'm still going to treat myself to a handpan.
Speedy has been without his cone all day and we haven't noticed him licking at his foot so maybe this is it. At last!
I've been happiliy thinking about my plan to grow native coastal wildflowers. I've found specialist nurseries where I can buy either plug plants or seeds. I'll try seeds as I like to have biggish areas of each plant and the timing is right as they need to be started off in the winter. (Photos below are from the web.) They will eventually go in the raised bed right under the terrace as being higher up the garden that bed will be the most exposed to the sea winds. I'm also thinking about banking the bed and adding some rocks to make it even more cliff-like but it will have to be smaller pebbles between the plants rather than the grass that is found in the wild. A coastal version of my beloved scree garden.
Thrift.
Wild mint.
Sheep's-Bit.
Sea stock, quite a rare plant that grows in the sand dunes at the far end of the beach. I'm happy to buy seeds of all of these and wouldn't even think about illeagally removing plants from the wild.
