Welcome to family, friends and visitors. Here you will find interesting (hopefully) pictures of my part of the world, news of our household and probably, long ramblings about anything that catches my interest.

Wet.

It's been wild, wet and windy for most of the day though it eased up a little in the middle of the day. But by the time I was driving home in the dark the windscreen wipers were on double speed to clear the torrential rain.
In the morning I made some ears and a trunk for my elephant costume. When I arrived at school most of the staff and children were wearing onesies for Africa Day but there were also some ingenious home-made costumes. I liked the child whose mum had turned a white top and leggings into a zebra costume by the addition of lots of black electrical tape. As my trunk was only made of paper I found that a good puff could make it move much to the children's amusement. My afternoon was spent taking the children to various workshops (African stories, singing and dancing) run by some outside specialists. We ended the afternoon with the whole school in the hall singing and dancing together.
When I got home I found the postman had left me a parcel from Vytas. A hobbit t-shirt from the Weta Workshop. I guess I'll be wearing it when we go to see part 2 this Christmas.
