Another very warm day. We're under a yellow weather warning for severe rainfall and possible thunderstorms this afternoon and through the evening. So far we've had some heavy showers but no signs of thunderstorms, which could be spectacular but may also cause power cuts.
I had a good night and was up soon after 7.00 ready to cycle, play the piano and do some Welsh before breakfast.
While Peter went off on a dump run I finished off the housework and then went out to work in the garden. Today's job was to move more pebbles from the front to the back garden. This is quite a leisurely job as I first have to pick out all the fallen leaves before transporting two one third full buckets of stones up to the back garden. The most satisfying part is tipping out the pebbles on the concrete base of the old workshop that used to cover the end of the back garden. Once the first raindrops fell I had cleared a lot of the clean pebbles leaving another layer ready to be washed clean by the next shower.
Indoors I cycled again and then did some overdue admin. I have been out once more to plant out a large pot of pink schizostylis by some clematis in a narrow border.
Finally - Another craft fair purchase, this time for Peter's birthday in a few months' time. (He doesn't look at this blog.) It's a tongue in cheek reminder of the war he waged against the rooks at Dingles making sure they didn't expand their rookeries already along the sides of two fields, to some trees right next to the house. There are a few rooks here but no big trees for them to roost in and our seagulls are well mannered.

That write up about Rooks is funny! The drawing of one is cute too.
