Welcome to family, friends and visitors. Here you will find interesting (hopefully) pictures of my part of the world, news of our household and probably, long ramblings about anything that catches my interest.

Rainy Day.

It has rained all day long. Not heavily and at one point it nearly stopped but not really a day for working outside. I started with preparing a morning on writing instructions for the Year 2 class I'll be teaching tomorrow. I had to laugh when I attempted to type up a poor example with spelling  and grammatical mistakes for the children to correct because my pc kept auto-correcting my mistakes. I had to go back and re-do them.
I thought today would be a good day to re-grout the kitchen tiles. No matter how I've tried to clean the grout, from eco-friendly vinegar to good old fashioned soap and water and even bleach, I haven't been able to whiten up the original grouting.

Although grouting is not my forte I have to say that the tiles look a lot fresher now. I had to work quickly when I did the hen over the rayburn because the heat was causing the grout to dry really quickly so I had to clean the tiles immediately.
The rain did ease off a little in the middle of the day so in between giving the tiles a good scrub and the actual grouting I went out for a wander around the garden. There was a lot of noise in the field and when I went up there were last year's geese honking away at their parents and the goslings. Doing the tiles took most of the day but there was just enough time to bake some chocolate brownie cookies (the same recipe but they're soft and chewy in the middle) for Peter to take to work tomorrow. I also altered the top I bought at the beginning of the week so that I can wear it to work tomorrow.
The first of the hardy geraniums to flower.
