Welcome to family, friends and visitors. Here you will find interesting (hopefully) pictures of my part of the world, news of our household and probably, long ramblings about anything that catches my interest.

Hot Afternoon.

After a grey morning the day warmed up to a very pleasant afternoon. Perfect conditions for giving the lawn a mow. I did the communal grass as well. My neighbour usually borrows our mower but she was out  buying violas and bulbs for her hanging baskets. Unlike her I can't bring myself to dig up or throw out plants that are still flowering. The Busy Lizzie in the terracotta wall planter has lost most of its leaves but still has lots of flowers so it remains in place for the time being.

Peter had been out doing history research at the museum but when he came home we had time to sit outside for a while until the shade chased us inside.
There was still plenty of sun at the front of the house until it set with a palette of pretty colours.
There were a lot of people at choir last night, at least 50 or 60. We came home with a bag of cooking apples from one member's plentiful harvest and a bottle of home made cider from another member's orchard. As well as trying to get the tricky timings for Time After Time we practised some of the simpler songs that we'll sing at a workshop in the Library on Saturday. They're having a series of workshops to introduce people to some of the creative activities going on in the area. We're also going to do a flash mob in the High Street beforehand which should be fun.
