Welcome to family, friends and visitors. Here you will find interesting (hopefully) pictures of my part of the world, news of our household and probably, long ramblings about anything that catches my interest.

Grey.

It's been a grey day with a hint of warmth to come. I walked into town to meet some friends for coffee, optimistically I put sunglasses in my bag but being sensible also put in my pack-a-mac. It turned out I needed neither of them though I did feel a few drops of rain as I went into the Fortescue Hotel, our venue. There were five of us today and it was lovely to chat and catch up on all our news (and ailments).
I called in at the library to read the Which reports on noise cancelling headphones which I was hoping might be the solution to Peter's snoring. Reading the product descriptions it looks as they are only designed to cut out background noise such as engine noises. I did try Sally's noise cancelling headphones a while back and they didn't help. I need to see if there are any proven anti-snoring headphones/ear-buds. I was driven to recording Peter's snoring but have failed to upload it, probably a good thing.
Our builder was here at 8.00 to carry working on the decking and today he completed the two terraces using new decking. Unlike the old very bouncy decking they are rock solid.
He'll return tomorrow morning to do the steps.
And then I can begin work on the planters.
I'll also have to think of a something to cover up the sloping gap along the edge of the top decking. Unfortunately the builder didn't leave enough overhang to use decking pieces either vertically or horizontally but I think I've got a solution.
