What else could we do on a crisp sunny day but head out for a walk on the cliffs? I hadn't been out of the house all week so I really needed to stretch my legs.
We decided to extend our usual route around Morte Point by walking through the village to the path that leads down to the coast from the old well.
We followed the path that runs higher up the cliff till we came to the crosspath (out of sight on the right) that leads down to the lower path and then doubled back on ourselves walking towards the endless stair, well it feels like that especially if climbed without taking a break, the start of which can be seen on the left.
At the top there's a good view of Mort Point itself.
No seals today but large waves were rolling in and breaking dramatically against the rocky shore. Our usual coffee stop bench was in the shade and in direct line of the cold northerly wind so no stopping there. Once round the point it was sheltered and warm. We found ourselves a comfy spot to drink our coffee and watch the rolling waves.
After we got home from our refreshing walk I got the mower out and cut the lawn and communal grass. The evening sky was almost cloudless and the setting sun, to the human eye at least, was a burning red ball in an orange sky.
